Michael Rocco Moccio, 78, of Plattsburgh, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2026 at CVPH Medical Center In Plattsburgh. He was born on August 30th, 1947; the son of Anthony and Anna Moccio of Newark, New Jersey.
He attended St. Aloysius Grammar School and St. James High School in Newark, NJ.
He was very athletic in High School playing Football, Basketball & Baseball. He even tried out for the New York Mets. He was an avid poker and pool player and sports enthusiast.
He is survived by his spouse, Gloria, and his children, Mark, Meghan and Shawn of NJ and his sister, Donna and brother-in law, Mario of Delaware.
Visitation will be held on Sunday March 8th 2PM to 5PM at Brown Funeral Home.
He was a Vietnam Veteran. He proudly served in the US Air Force from 1967-1970 and was stationed at the Plattsburgh Air Force Base.
He was trained as an aircraft mechanic on the B-52's and aerial refueling with the KC-135 Stratotanker. His overseas deployment was in Thailand.
He worked at the USPS Bulk Mail Center in South Kearny NJ.
He came back to settle in Plattsburgh for the last 20 years. He always made new friends wherever he lived and made people laugh with his sense of humor. He will be dearly missed by many.
