Michael Wayne Modock, born on April 11, 1955, in Owensboro, KY, has peacefully departed this earthly life on February 17, 2026 at the Heartford House while under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Kentucky and made his grand entrance welcomed by a "Well done, good and faithful servant." He was a graduate of Owensboro High School in 1974 and retired from the Owensboro Medical Health System. Michael was an avid University of Louisville basketball lover, watcher and critic.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jean Walker Modock and Charles Winstead; and sister, Vivian Howard.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 30 years, Jonell Modock; six children, Andre Wells (Stephanie), Marla Braswell, Angela Metcalf, LaTisha Palmer, Mario Palmer and daughter and caregiver, Alisa Smoot; three siblings, Tru Miller Grant, Tanya Fountain and Jeanie Williams, along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral services will be at 12:00pm on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be from 10:00am until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
