Michael David Molinary Otero, 45, of Davis, passed away on September 10, 2025. Born on November 8, 1979, in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late David Molinary and Zulma Ivette Otero.
Michael graduated from culinary school in Puerto Rico, and came to West Virginia in 2012, fell in love with WV, and chose to stay and call it home. He then began working at the Blackwater Falls State Park Smokehouse Restaurant, where he worked as a dedicated cook for 10 years. Cooking was his passion in life. He loved being around friends and creating amazing food for them. He also liked being outdoors in nature, enjoyed fishing, shooting guns, hiking, and gaming.
Most importantly, he cherished spending time with friends and family. Michael was a beloved brother, uncle, nephew, and friend, a very kind and loving man, and had a heart of gold. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He can be remembered by saying, "The love of a family is life's greatest blessing."
He is survived by his daughter Ishtar Molinary; sisters, Vilma Bellido and husband Gerardo, Michelle Molinary and partner David, Veronica Urena and husband Renee; brother, Alex Molinary and brother, Bryan and wife Terry Garlarza; nieces and nephews, Amanda, Crystal, Jonathan, Karina, Kianna, Nadia, Selena, Jeremiah, Truce, Trevon, and Victoria.
The family would like to thank everyone who donated or participated in helping them out in any way during this difficult time.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, from 5 to 8 PM at the Fredlock & Fenner Funeral Homes - Davis Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at 11 AM. A graveside service will be held immediately after at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Thomas, WV.
