Michael John Molster, 56, a lifelong resident of West Haven, passed away surrounded by his loving family on January 31, 2023, after a brief battle with cancer. Born December 27, 1966, in New Haven, CT, he leaves behind his parents John and Patricia Carmody Molster. Mike is also survived by his sons Ryan Molster, Michael "Big Red" (Adriana) Skarlos, and his stepson Billy Brice. As well as his siblings, Carolyn (Tim) Smallidge and their children Brandon and Tyler, David (Andrea) Molster; Brian (Kelly) Molster and their children Dylan, Christopher, Madison and Paige; Scott (Tracy) Molster and their daughter Skylar; as well as lifelong friend and the mother of his children Amy Skarlos (John), Marquis Reddick whom he considered another son, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and lifelong friends. Michael or "Moe" as he was known to his close friends and co-workers, graduated from Platt RVTS in 1984. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service, under NALC Branch 19, as a letter carrier for over 35 years, where his co-workers soon became his second family. Mike was an avid sports enthusiast, as a lifelong NY Giants and NY Mets fan. He enjoyed attending games and harassing opposing fans. He passed along his passion for sports to his siblings, children and all who would listen. Michael was a loving gentle soul, who always had a smile on his face and was there for anyone and everyone. He will be truly missed by anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3-6pm at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. His funeral procession will leave the funeral home on Monday morning at 9:30 for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John Vianney Church of Saint John XXIII Parish at 10am.
