Michael Moraitis Obituary
.Marino Michael "Mike" Moraitis, devoted husband and father, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, after an extended illness. Marino was the devoted husband to Jacqueline (Baird) Moraitis for 54 years. They were married at the "Annunciation" Greek Orthodox Church where Marino remained an active member for life. Marino was preceded in death by his loving parents, Constantine and Anastasia (Herouvis) Moraitis, of Ikaria, Greece, his brother, Nicholas C. Moraitis and his brother-in-law, Nicholas John Vianos. Marino is survived by his loving sons, Constantine Marino (Kelly) Moraitis and Nicholas Paul Moraitis. Marino is also survived by his sister, Helen Vianos and her sons, John (Diana) and Dino Vianos. Marino is survived by his great nieces and nephews, Eleni, Nicholas, and Stellios. He is also survived by a myriad of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Marino "Mike" Moraitis was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He will be receiving a military salute for his service to his country. Mike was a 30 year member of the GAC and leaves behind many friends who will miss his company. Marino had a 40 year career in the restaurant business and was the founder and owner of the Black Forest Inn at The Ohio State University. He also owned and managed a chain of Arthur Treacher's Fish and Chips in three states. Marino was founder and past manager of Marino's Seafood restaurant located on W. 5th Avenue in Columbus, Ohio. Marino was the founder and ex-president of the local chapter of the Pan Icarian Club where he headed up many fundraising projects for the Greeks of Icarian descent. Visitation will be at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 555 N. High St., Columbus, Ohio, on Monday, March 24, 2025, starting at 9:30am and the funeral will take place at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the "Annunciation" Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
