Michael James Morris, age 53, of Dover, an All American Man, died Sunday, February 11, 2024, following a brief battle with brain cancer, while in Country Club Retirement Center at Dover.
Born in Trenton, Michigan on February 16, 1970, Mike was raised by his mother, Anna Mary Hadorn of Dover.
He was a beloved class member of Dover High School’s Class of 1988 and worked for 11 years at McDonald’s before joining the staff at INCA Presswood Pallets where he was a proud 19-year employee of the Dover manufacturing facility; often stating: “It was the best job ever!”
Mike also operated a DJ service for many years and enjoyed being the man behind the music. To know Mike was to know of his love for the band KISS. They wanted the best and they got the best from him! Mike attended every KISS Concert he could and had an extensive collection of memorabilia dating back many years. Mike also never turned down the opportunity to enjoy a good musical, watch Grease, or the Rocky Horror Picture Show or listen to Elvis.
He was especially close to his niece and caregiver, Samantha Ratchford and his nephew, Cameron Romig, his special friends, Michelle, Michael, and Jenna Festi, Ron and Missy Martin, Dena Provenzano, Susan Mosley, Scott Kail, and all of his co-workers at INCA.
He will be missed by his family that include his mother, his siblings, Valerie (Joe) Lefler, Margaret (Butch) Barnhart, Gerald Morris, William (Diane) Morris, Charles (Kathy) Morris, John (Jodie) Morris, Tyson (Sherry) Morris, and Patricia Grewell as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and his beloved dog, Prince.
Mike was preceded in death by his biological mother, Victoria Grewell; his sister, and yin to his yang, Malea Santana, and siblings, Robert Morris, and Stephanie Teague; his best friend, David Festi, and his nephew-in-law, Rick Ratchford, III.
The family will greet guests on Mike’s 54th birthday, Friday, February 16, 2024, from 3:00 – 6:00 PM in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. A celebration of Mike’s life will begin at 7:00 PM in the Midvale Park Community Center following visitation.
