Michael Jeffery Morris Sr.

Michael J. "Buck" Morris, 71, of Bloomfield, beloved husband for 49 years of June (Harmon) Morris, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 10, 2026.

Michael was born in Hartford, son of the late James Gamble and Mary McKenzie Morris, and was a dedicated advocate for harm reduction and worked tirelessly within his community, always striving to help people stay safe and supported. He had a genuine love for others and made a lasting impact on many lives through his kindness and guidance.

Michael lived a life defined by compassion, authenticity, and a deep commitment to helping others. Above all, Michael was a devoted family man and will be remembered for his warm personality, generosity, and the way he stayed true to himself while embracing everyone around him. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In his personal life, Michael found joy in playing pool and cards, and he took great pride in his sense of style; he loved dressing well and had a special fondness for his Cadillacs.

In addition to the love of his life, June, Michael is survived by his children, Dionna Jackson and her husband Martin of Rock Hill, SC, Marsell Morris and his wife Patrice of Bloomfield, Morgan Morris of Bloomfield, Malanie Price and her husband Kellen of Boiling Brook, IL, Marcus Morris of Bloomfield, and Milik Morris of Bloomfield; 28 grandchildren, who he loved unconditionally; his brothers, Brian Morris, Jerome Gamble, Stanley Gamble, Alanzo Gamble, William Gomes, and Willie Brooks; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Michael Morris, Jr.; his siblings, Linda Williams, Gregory Gamble, James Gamble, Jr., and Robert Flake; his sister-in-law, Lillian Collier; brothers-in-law, Herman Collier and Gerry Collier; his aunts, Julia Mink and Susan Scott; and his mother-in-law, Leona Collier.

His family will receive friends on Thursday, April 23, 1-3 p.m., with a Celebration of Life, 3 p.m., at the Lodge Community Chapel, 130 Deerfield Rd., Windsor.
