Michael Neary Obituary
Mike was born in Minneapolis on October 24, 1937 to Richard and Winifred (O'Reilly) Neary. He is survived by his children Mary "Beth" (George) Kuhlmann, Michael (Jill), Mark (Melanie), Margaret "Molly" Neary; grandchildren, Steven (Paula), Philip, David, Elizabeth Kuhlmann; Julia and Catherine Neary; great-granddaughter Talia Kuhlmann; siblings, Eileen Plante and Mary Wynn Kaeding and many nieces and nephews. Mike was preceded in death by his beloved wife Ruth, his parents, his brothers Pete, Tim and sister Kathy.
Mike graduated from St Thomas University before attending the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. In 1964 he opened his first private practice office in St Anthony Village. His last years of practice were with Health Partners. During those years he was an Associate Professor at the University of Minnesota, teaching third-year dental students. He took-up Gymkhana car racing in the '70s and got his pilot's license in the '80s, picking-up golf along the way and fly fishing later in life. Mike and Ruth's favorite places to visit were "up north" on Lake Vermillion and their dear friends Bill and Barb Flanagan in Carmel, CA.
The family wishes memorial donations be made to Catholic Eldercare, Our Lady of Peace Hospice or University of Minnesota School of Dentistry.

Dr Neary was a special man. I thoroughly enjoyed working with him at HealthPartners and missed his impromptu visits to the clinic in order to get the "rat poison" level checked. My condolences to the Neary family.
