Michael Oakley Obituary

Published by Sunset Hills Memorial Park & Mortuary on Dec. 27, 2012.
Michael Alan Oakley, a life long resident of the High Desert, passed away on December 27, 2012, at the age of 40 doing one of the things he loved most, riding his sand rail at Dumont Dunes with family and friends. Michael was born at George AFB on September 8, 1972, attended local schools and graduated from Apple Valley High School in 1990. On June 24, 1995, he married his soulmate, Tracy Dzida. They bought Tank Products, Inc., a manufacturing company in Ontario, and have two boys, Morgan, 16, and Hunter, 13. Michael lived life to the fullest. He loved restoring old Volkswagens, scuba diving, snowboarding, fishing, and ice hockey. He also loved traveling with family, going to many places over the years. Michael had a huge family and he made each and every one of us feel loved and special. His loud, infectious laugh will ring in our ears forever. He was an extremely humble, kind, and generous person. His wife and sons were the love of his life. He will be missed forever. He is survived by his loving wife Tracy, sons Morgan and Hunter; parents Judi (Bill) Davis, AV and Tim (Pat) Oakley, Valencia; sisters Stephanie Davis, AV and Jenna (Roger) Cox, Thornton, CO; brothers Billy (Linda) Davis, AV and Sean Oakley, Malibu, CA; grandparents Bill and Lillian Davis, AV; grandmother Mary Oakley, San Diego; parents-in-law Joanne (Ray) Lamb, Oak Hills and George (Chris) Dzida, Redlands; and dozens of cousins, nieces, and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Sunset Hills on Monday, January 7th, at 2:00 p.m. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to your favorite charity.

I am a customer ,i was shocked to hear about Michael.
when we would talk it was always about family and weekends.
It's been a while but I was just thinking about him this morning.
I will always have fond memories of him.

He was my uncle, and I don't remember much about him since he died when I was only 4 years old at the time, but what I do remember about him was that every time he would say something he would make everyone in the rooms face light up with joy, and he never gave of bad vibes, or feed off negative energy, and that just wasn't him. I have never seen him upset or in a negative mood, he was always positive and he helped people get through thing that were hard. Another thing that I remember about him was that when I was little I wanted to ride in his dune buggy, but I was scared, and he told me "It's ok your safe.... nothing bad will happen. Just where your seat belt, goggles and helmet and you'll be fine...." and I said crying "ok Uncle Mike..." then he said "ok lets go." And now because of him I love riding dirt bikes, and going in dune buggy's there fun. but it's better when you where your protection and saftey gear that's why i am strict with seat belts. He changed the whole families lives after his passing. He will always have a place in my heart R.I.P Uncle Mike
