Westtown, New York - Michael J. Osias, age 50, passed away in his sleep on Monday, September 26, 2022 at his residence. Born in Newton, New Jersey, Michael grew up in Sussex County and lived in Budd Lake before moving to Westtown, New York. He graduated from High Point Regional High School in 1990 and attended Rutgers University. Michael had been employed as a distinguished engineer for IBM Corporation for 25 years and recently was employed by Kendryl after the company split into two companies. Michael was extremely well respected in the field of technology by his peers, he loved his work and was known as the "Wizard of IBM." He was adored by his loving family; especially his nieces and nephews whom he cherished very much. Michael was predeceased by his grandparents who he spent a good amount of time with, Jennie M. (Swarts) Edsall in 1995 and R.D. James Edsall in 2014. He is survived by his partner in crime and devoted wife of 24 years, Bobbi Jo (Johnson); his parents, Gene and Nancy (Edsall) Osias of Wantage; his in-laws, James and Maureen Johnson of Shelby, North Carolina; his sister-in-laws and their husbands, Jodi Whetstone and her husband Greg, of Mt Arlington, Teresa Johnson of Sussex, and Jamie Watts and her husband Larry of Rockford, IL. and his nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, September 30, 2022 at the Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank Street (Route 23), Sussex. Friends may pay their respects to the family prior to the service from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation in Michael's memory to RAINN, 1220 L Street NW, Suite 500, Washington, DC 20005.
