I met Sharon in 1996 while we worked together in midtown. Within a short time, a group of us became fast friends & have remain so today. We began an annual BBQ tradition in 2002 & with a few exceptions, we met every summer. There were only a few of us with families when we first met. Throughout the years, we saw engagements, weddings then baby 1, 2 & for some of us #3! The spouses who married into our group just naturally blended in. They had no choice! Every year at our BBQ, it was always the same. We´d all spend 15 minutes catching up on the ages of the kids, what grades they were in etc, then we would spend the rest of day into night, eating, drinking & retelling the same stories from 20 yrs ago & just laughing all night. Although we mostly see each other once a year, we always reconnected like we saw each other yesterday. This was a special group. Our kids who grew up together seeing each other once a year always meshed & really enjoyed the day together. I guess they learned from watching us with our special bond. Mike was so beloved in our group. He was always kind, generous & so funny. He was always an incredible father, so so so proud of Ryan. I know he will be watching over Sharon & Ryan, his love will be with them always. We will all miss Mike dearly. Our group will never be the same.
Rest in peace, we love you.

Dear Sharon, family and friends of Michael,
On behalf of the United States Submarine Veterans, we offer our sincere condolences at Michael´s passing. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We are always saddened whenever a fellow "Bubblehead" departs on Eternal Patrol. He served with honor in the U.S. Submarine Force.
To our "Brother-of-the-Phin" we say, "Sailor, rest your oar. We have the watch. Fair Winds and Following Seas." Thank you for your service to our country.
Sharon and family... "may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you." 2 Thessalonians 3:16 (ESV).
