Michael DeWayne Owens, age 77 of Plymouth passed away on April 2, 2023.
Michael was born on May 22, 1945 in Corbin, Kentucky to his parents, the late Tommie (née Harrison) and Richard Owens. He is the beloved and devoted husband of Shawn (née DeHetre) Owens; loving father of Katie Owens and Adam (Brittany) Owens; proud grandfather of Logan Clapham and Cailyn Clapham amd great-grandfather of Brayden Clapham. Michael is pre-deceased by his daughter, Angela Clapham.
He was raised by his grandmother Minnie M. Owens. He played football in H.S. Him and his family moved to Michigan when he was 19 years old. He got a job at Ford Motor Co where he worked as a machine repair man for the next 42 years. He loved talking with his only son about tools and fixing things. He always had a job for him to do or something for him to build. He had a love for classic cars and so proud of his '63 Chevy Impala super sport convertible. He loved his plants and succulents and being outdoors camping or sitting by the campfire. He loved quality time with his family and taking family vacations to Gatlinburg, Tenn. every year over Easter break for many years. He loved all his children and grandchildren and spoiled them all. He adored his grandpups. He was the nicest, sweetest man ever and would do anything for anyone.
Family and friends may visit the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth, Michigan on Saturday, April 8, 2023 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
A Funeral Service will be officiated by the family on the same evening at Schrader-Howell beginning at 6:00 P.M.
