To the Pelz and extended family, I am greatly sorry for your loss! Please take comfort in the fact that Pelz, as he was always referred to by many of his friends, enriched numerous lives as well as mine! I have been friends with Pelz for almost 30 years. We have grown from irresponsible, fun-loving, thrill-seeking college students to successful and responsible adults, fathers, and life long friends. Our paths took us in many different directions, but we always remained tight friends. You never know how much you miss someone you love until they are gone! In many ways, you forget to let them know how much you care for them before you permanently part ways.
Pelz and I have experienced many aspects of life together and we were looking forward to enjoying businesses opportunities, retirement, and being two old dudes talking about the crazy things we did together. Pelz had a one of a kind flare and an ability to debate all topics with any person!
Pelz was a great father to Mia and loved her more than life. They had a very unique father and daughter relationship. More than anything, I am mostly saddened to see that bond and nuturing end!
I looked up to Pelz in many aspects of his life and will miss him and his Pelz ways, for the rest of my life!
This loss is gonna hurt for a long time!

Mike was my fraternity brother, best friend and companion at Indiana University. We roomed together sophomore through senior year. So, I knew Mike very well.

Indeed, we studied together, partied, traveled (i.e, Grand Canyon and South Padre Island and Mexico) and did just about everything else together too.
Most of my best memories from college include him.

We kept in touch after school through text messaging, phone calls and occasionally meeting.

I will echo what his other friends already know, Mike was a great man. He was loyal, smart and cared for his friends and loved ones - especially his daughter. I've never met anyone else like Mike and never will. He was almost too smart for his own good. He was not afraid of anything, or anyone, was fun to be with and brought a unique perspective to everything.

He definitely had a gift for pushing someone's buttons. He knew exactly what to say to get the biggest response from someone. Mike did not care what others thought. He was strong and confident. He dressed unique, danced unique and had that damn string of hair that he would sometimes let down in back.

It really hurts to know I won't have a chance to see him or speak with him again in this life. I'm shocked, sad and angry. This is so hard to accept.

When his friends get together Ito celebrate Mike, I look forward to hearing Mike stories and I sure have some to contribute. I'm just rambling now.

I love you Mike! Your friend, Lane
