Michael Pettit Obituary
Michael Scott Pettit passed away on August 18, 2025 at the age of 76.
He was born on August 15, 1949 to his parents Robert Pettit and Lois Kelley.
Michael grew up in Massillon, Ohio and graduated from Georgetown University followed by Golden Gate Law School. His career was spent advocating for his clients as a public defender in Alaska and Northern California. He loved history and the outdoors, and was often admired for his intelligence and sense of humor. Mike married his great love, Tracey Gifford, in 2004 and they welcomed their cherished son, Owen, in 2006. He was a resident of La Selva Beach, California.
He is survived by his son, Owen, and two siblings Lyn Pettit and Rick Pettit.
A memorial service will be held on September 27, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel.
