About

Michael Phillips Obituary

Michael L. Phillips, a lifelong Yuba Sutter resident, left us on February 27, 2026, after a brief illness.

Michael served in the United States Army and spent time in Vietnam.

He went on to work and retire from the United States Post Office after 40-plus years of service.

Michael and Mary loved to travel and took many cruises and saw many countries.

In later years, he loved to relax in his chair on Sundays, have a beer, and watch football or maybe some golf.

He is survived by his wife, of 59 years, Mary L. Phillips; four children, Sharon Phillips Briggs (Dan Briggs), Robert Phillips (Kathy Phillips), Kimberly Phillips, and Monique Phillips (Matthew Laughlin); two grandchildren, Heather Kline (Christopher Kline) and Mason Laughlin; two great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Lydia; and two nephews, Jason and Nicholas Phillips.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Mary Phillips; and brother, Gary Phillips.

He will be missed greatly by his family, who plan to honor him with a private ceremony in lieu of a public service.
