Michael Eugene Presley

Eugene Presley, 82, of Gulf Breeze, Florida passed away Wednesday, October 29th, 2025, with his family by his side. Eugene was born on December 18, 1942, in Mobile, Alabama to Homer and Sybil Presley. In his early years, he lived in Foley, Alabama before his family moved to Opp, Alabama, where he met his wife, Emogene.

Eugene graduated from Auburn University in 1964 with a bachelor's degree in Forest Management. He was a member of the Army National Guard (1966-1972). His training as a real estate appraiser began in 1970. He earned his MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute in 1982. Eugene moved his family to Gulf Breeze in 1973.

Eugene was one of five original founding members of the Rotary Club of Gulf Breeze (1973), remaining active with the organization for 52 years. In addition, Eugene was a Member of the Appraisal Institute (Gulf Coast Chapter President- 1986, Florida Chapter President - 2007) and the Pensacola Association of Realtors ( President - 1983, State District Vice President - 1984). Eugene has been an active member of the Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church since 1976. He was a Master Mason for 60 years and a member of Opp Masonic Lodge #605. He was a long-time past member of the Pensacola Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors. Eugene was a member of McGuire's IPC, where he loved to take many friends and family. He recently became involved with the Gulf Breeze Historical Society.

Eugene enjoyed working as an appraiser until retiring at the age of 78. Even though he loved working, he never missed out on family time, especially with the grandchildren, who he cherished. Eugene and Emogene loved to travel with family and friends.

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by Emogene, his wife of 62 years; his daughter, Susan McKenney (Steve) and their children, Kellen McKenney and Connor McKenney; and his daughter Candice O'Malley (Jeremiah), and their children Logan O'Malley (Hannah), Micayla Banks (Joseph) and great-grandson, Samuel; and his sister Elaine Boothe (Steve) as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 9th at 2:00 at the Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church, 75 Fairpoint Drive, Gulf Breeze, Florida.

A reception will follow in the reception hall. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Eugene's name to the charity of your choice.
