Mr. Rice I miss you man. You were like a father to me you pushed me harder than anyone else and I always will be grateful for the time I had with you. I hope I'm doing you proud at FSMA I completed my goal for you, Starting varsity as a freshman. You made me better and I can't wait to see you again.

Its been 4 months and im just gonna tell you how i found out.My mom is a kindergarten teacher at pca and one of the other teachers was very close to him. That teacher called my mom crying and screaming just as we were about to leave for school. My mom told me to stay at home and i asked why, she said that he had passed and then left . Then i lost it my eyes just started to water and i just got myself together and hugged my dog. i just want to say we weren't that close but it was very upsetting. ill miss you mr.rice and cant wait o see you in heaven.

Mr rice was my sons gym teacher. I personally did not know him, however he made such an impact on my sons life in the short time he was his gym teacher. My prayers are with mr rices Family and all the people whos life he has blessed.

Mike was the definition of "one of a kind"! He was a friend since high school and thanks to social media, we were able to keep in touch over the years. Whether it was a one of his many, many jokes that made me laugh all the time, or talking about our dogs, it was great to keep in touch. My heart aches for the Rice Family, his co-workers, students and friends. Rest in Peace Mike.

Our family along with the rest of the PCA family are devastated by this loss. Coach Rice was so loved by his students, including our daughters. They had the privilege of learning from him over the years. Although our grief cannot compare to what his family and closest friends are feeling, please know that he will be forever remembered by the Nichols family. My husband had the privilege of coaching volleyball for Coach Rice at PCA and will continue to do so just as he would have wanted. I grew up in his childhood neighborhood, literally down the street from his home (Carriage Run) and my parents still reside there. I remember Mike as a little kid...athletic and full of life and joy. On behalf of myself and my family, our heartfelt condolences go out to his family and loved ones who's hearts ache deeply of this loss. Praying for God's comfort and care to surround all of you as you endure this difficult time.

I never had the chance to meet Coach Mike, but I admired him from a far when I drop my child off at school in the mornings, I looked forward to seeing his beautiful smile and good looks. He was special I could tell. He will be missed. Many prayers to those who did have the pleasure of knowing Coach Mike.

My heart is broken by the news. I have not seen Mike since middle school but I have nothing but fun memories of him. He was always upbeat, very outgoing and always had a smile on his face. His family are in my thoughts.

My brother you have held a big light in my heart from the days you were assisting the Dr when I was getting a filling. To the last time I saw you July 9th it was such a joy running into you. You were so happy when you told me you left the dental scene and found your new passion as a teacher and a mentor.
