Michael Ring Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by N.H. Scott & Hanekamp Funeral Home on Nov. 25, 2025.
Michael C. Ring, age 68, of Glenview, passed away peacefully at his home on November 23, 2025.
He is survived by his mother, Charlene Ring; his sister, Karen O'Neill; his nephews, Brian and Sean O'Neill; and his devoted life partner, Tracy LeVine. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Ring, and his brother-in-law, Tim O'Neill.
Mike was born on November 6, 1957, and was a lifelong resident of Glenview. He graduated from Glenbrook South High School in 1976, where he was a member of the chess team. After attending college briefly, where he joined the golf team, he returned home to work alongside his father at the family business, Ring Manufacturing Co., where he remained until its closing.
A devoted Chicago sports fan, Mike especially loved the Cubs and Bears. His greatest passion, however, was golf. He was a longtime member of the Glenview Men's Golf Club and, more recently, of the Ouilmette Golf Club in Wilmette. Known as an excellent golfer, Mike won many tournaments and was proud to have had a few hole-in-ones over the years. He cherished every opportunity to be out on the course.
Mike will be remembered for his easygoing nature, sense of humor, infectious smile, and the kindness he showed to those around him. Throughout his courageous battle with ALS, he faced every challenge with remarkable strength and dignity.
Funeral Service, Friday, November 28, 3 pm at the N.H. Scott & Hanekamp Funeral Home, 1240 Waukegan Rd, Glenview. Interment private.
