Michael Antonio Romdale Bynum" Mike", 43, of Charles City VA, departed this life on September 24, 2023.
He fought a long battle with kidney disease, all the while still thanking God for blessing him. Mike was born a twin, but his twin passed at birth. He was born in Wilson, North Carolina to the late Mattie L.S. Bynum on February 16, 1980.
Mike lived in Wilson, NC for two years before moving to a small neighborhood (Glendale) in Charles City, VA. Where he met friends that became more like family and established close bonds. Mike had a second mom (Linda) which is his oldest sister. She was always trying to keep him in line.
He was a great Dad and loved his sons, he always wanted the best for them. Mike was a very kind, funny, and generous person. He loved to laugh, joke around, and eat. He loved his music and sports. He had a couple favorite sports teams; college basketball team, North Carolina Tarheels; and the NFL football team, The Cincinnati Bengals. Go Bengals! He attended Charles City County schools and worked various jobs before becoming disabled.
He is preceded in death by his mother, the late Mattie L.S. Bynum; stepfather, Ernest Lee Bynum; and brother, Anthony Rolland. He is survived by his sons, Damarius Bynum and JaMoray Williams; siblings, brother, Anthony Swinson (Vicki); sisters, Linda Allen (Greg), and Rita Crump (Gene); devoted nieces, Domonique Bynum, and Chalya Swinson; nephews, Malachi Adkins III, Eugene R. Crump IV, and Darrian Cate (Alejandra); extended family brothers, William Charity (Dorothy), and Germaine Rolland (Chanda); and sister Tracy Banks (Melvin); devoted friends, Jamar Roberson, Ben Roberson, Troy Miles, Charles Lee and Pete Lukowsky; a special friend Jennifer Quivers; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held 2PM Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Vincent Funeral Home, Providence Forge, VA. A visitation will be held 2 hours prior to services.
