Michael Arthur "Mike" Root

I'm 13 years old and I'll always remember how my uncle Mike made me laugh

A time when my uncle made me laugh was when we were in his boat and he said a funny joke and I fell in and when I came up and got back on board we laughed even more I miss him so much RIP my my uncle rest in piece

My favorite memories with my uncle Mike was when he would take me fishing and when we would talk on the boat and just make memories

Micheal Root was my middle school teacher and I always told him yo mama and he was the best teacher I could ever have

I cannot express the heartache the learning of Mr. Root's passing has brought to me and my daughter. He was more than just a teacher to my daughter. He was a friend and a mentor to her. Ciera turned to him and looked to him for anything. He truly understood her. A special needs teacher was truly his calling.

I remember Mike from the neighborhood when we were kids. He was always into sports. Imagine my surprise when I learned that he went into teaching.
I always figured he would be a coach somewhere. I found it rather funny when my son told me that Mike was his teacher.
Apparently, Mike took one look at him and knew he was related to me.
I had a chance to reconnect with Mike at our 35th High School reunion. We talked a lot, enjoyed ourselves and had a few laughs. R.I.P.

Every time he saw me in the hallway he used to say what´s up Paris (he said I looked like Paris Jackson) that always put a smile on my face. Thank you for making my science class fun. May you forever rest in paradise

Mr Root was like a father figure to me and he will always be my favorite I love you and I will miss you my guy forever and always in my heart

He was my daughters teacher in the summer He was a great teacher He will be missed

Former student of Mr. root, he was a good man will be greatly missed

He was my grandsons teacher over to the Citi Boces program.

I first meet him in high school he was my science teacher and he helped me in with many of my other class work. I would also see him every may for the Phoenix Memorial day festivities at the VFW he was such an amazing teacher and a great friend whenever I ran in to him we would always talk an see his beautiful children. I remember whejn i first meet his wife. An his kids were so tiny I enjoyed seeing them every Memorial weekend and seeing how big the kids got. He will truly be missed. An I will forever be thankful and blessed that I not only got to know him as my teacher but as a friend.
