It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael S. Ross, affectionately known as Mike, who left this world on September 18, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on October 14, 1956, in Wilmington, Ohio, to the late Sam and Carolyn (nee Mason) Ross. Mike spent his life in Fayetteville, where he enriched the lives of those around him with his kindness and generosity.Mike was a dedicated laborer in the automotive industry, working with pride and commitment at Ford Motor Company for over 25 years. His hard work was only matched by his passion for life outside of work, where he found joy in nature's wonders. An avid fisherman, Mike cherished the peaceful moments spent by the water, and he often took to the trails for hiking and hunting, reveling in the beauty of the great outdoors. Additionally, he had a love for remote control airplanes, which added a sense of adventure to his life.A gifted craftsman, Mike had a unique talent for creating beautiful items that he generously shared with others. He often crafted thoughtful gifts for Sunday school children to present to their parents, reflecting his kind-hearted nature and his desire to spread joy. His love of animals was evident in his deep affection for his dogs, who were constant companions in his life.As a devout Christian, Mike's faith was an integral part of who he was. He loved the Lord deeply and approached life with a sense of gratitude and grace that inspired those around him. His spirit of generosity and kindness touched the lives of many, and he will be profoundly missed.Mike is survived by the love of his life Linda Royal; Loving brother of Sue Fowee, Greg (Kelly) Ross, Tom Ross, and Cindy (Bill) Whalen. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. A graveside service to honor Mike's life will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Plainview Cemetery. Family, friends, and all who were touched by Mike's compassionate spirit are invited to join in this celebration of his life.
