Michael John Ruggles, 62 years old of
Antioch, IL passed away Friday, August 11, 2023. He was born June 15, 1961 to Robert and Judith (McNiff) Ruggles in Waukegan, IL. On August 16, 1986, Michael was united in marriage with Deborah Adams at St. Peter Catholic Church,
Antioch, IL. When it came to Michael, family and friends were his passion. He lived his life to the fullest and always at full throttle. Michael loved the outdoors, whether it was flying, waterskiing, snowmobiling, or being in the mountains or on the lake with his family. Michael was the proud owner of many businesses, enjoyed learning new skills, and believed, the bigger the challenge, the better. He loved his children and adored his grandchildren, especially when it came to teaching them new skills. Michael was known for being loving, caring, genuine, and for always making sure his mother and family were cared and loved for.
Survivors include, his wife of 37 years, Deborah; children, Dennis (Stacey) Adams, Bill (Tracie) Adams, Kimberly (Chris) Gorzelnik; and Michael (Trisha) Ruggles II; grandchildren, Tyler and Brandon Adams, William II and Blake Adams, and Mikayla and Michael Ruggles III; mother, Judith; siblings, Sandy (Gary) Preis, Gloria Gajewski (Bill Fox), Robert (Ruth Ann) Ruggles, Diane Ruggles (Steve Schaffer), Donna (Jamie) Shroat, John (Kristine) Ruggles, and Lorianne (John) Dyke; and many nieces, nephews, family members, and friends. Michael was preceded in death by his father, Robert.
Memorial Visitation will be held from 3:00PM until 7:00PM Thursday, August 17, 2023 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St.
