Michael Thor Ruiz

Michael Thor Ruiz, age 48 of Orlando, Florida passed away on October 9, 2024. He was born on January 1, 1976 in New York, New York.

Michael was family oriented. He loved talking with family and learning about his roots from New York and Puerto Rico. His free time centered on sharing his love of video games, watching shows, and collecting sports memorabilia cards with his fiancée Kylene and her son Kiki. He was a practical joker and worked as a manager for Taco Bell. He was an avid gamer with streams on Twitch, You Tube, and Tik Tok for his followers. 

He was a positive influence on family, friends, and co-workers through his infectious smile. Always one for sharing a kind word and seeking peace in life. Even during his recent illness, he would often deflect from his challenges and ask about the well-being of others. 

Michael is survived by his mother, Sonia Ruiz; his sister, Michelle Sammet and her husband Tom; his fiancée, Kylene Ramirez and her son Enrique; his niece Lorynn Winburn and her family, his nephew Jared Sanchez; his Uncle David Ruiz, and extended family members. Michael was preceded in death by his father Isidore Ruiz.

Services for Michael will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, East Orlando Chapel. Family and friends are welcome to visit from 3:00 – 8:00 PM. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.
