Michael F. Scarpetti
March 8, 1950 – July 19, 2023
Michael F. Scarpetti passed peacefully on July 19, 2023. He was surrounded by loving family and caregivers. Mike was born in Bridgeport, CT to parents, Mary Collins and Elio Scarpetti. Along with his dear wife, Nancy they relocated to Florida in 1996, where they lived the remainder of their lives.
Mike was married to his life-long partner, Nancy, for 44 years. They were married on May 3, 1975. After a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis, Nancy passed on July 31, 2017.
Mike is survived by his loving daughters, Jennifer Scarpetti and Kimberly Nelson, son-in-law, Roman Nelson Sr, beloved brother John Scarpetti, sisters-in-law, Carol Hecht, Deborah Rodvelt and Kathy Huggler, brother-in-law, Richard Rodvelt, granddaughters, Haileigh Diaz and Emma Scarpetti, grandsons, Alex Scarpetti, Roman Nelson Jr and Mark Nelson, great-granddaughters, Everleigh Diaz and Elly Scarpetti, nephews Brian Hecht and Jonathan Hecht and niece Tiffany Hecht.
Mike was predeceased by the love of his life, wife Nancy Scarpetti, mother Mary Collings, father Elio Scarpetti and mother-in-law Eleanor Huggler.
After graduating from Notre Dame H.S. he went on to study at Sacred Heart University in Bridgeport, CT, where he earned his associates degree. Upon graduation, Mike went on to become a Real Estate appraiser.
As a gifted musician and singer, he enjoyed writing his own music and lyrics. Spending time with family and friends was most important to him.
We are deeply saddened by Mike’s passing. He will be missed more than we can express, and he will truly live on in our hearts forever.
A memorial service will be held at Vero Beach Alliance Church 1701 43rd Ave Vero Beach, FL 32960 on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 1PM. The service will be officiated by Mike’s son-in-law, Preacher Roman Nelson Sr.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mike’s honor to the American Cancer Society at https://donate.cancer.org/.
