Michael Walter Schouten (Papa Mike)

March 13, 1956 - May 28, 2024.

Born in Covina, moved to Santa Paula, where he lived and raised his family.

At the age of 68 God called him home, his wings were ready but our hearts were not. He is now in heaven with his father Neil, brother Jim, Sister in Law Lori, and Father In Law Lawrence Pulido. Friends Neil Harrington, and Dan Chambers.

He left memories and footprints on our hearts that will forever be cherished by his wife of 46 years, Yoli and loving Mother Cecilia Helen Schouten.

Brother and Sister, Pat and Valerie Schouten-Berry.

Mike gave life to three beautiful children, son Jason Schouten, and Daughters Jennifer, husband Abram Chavez, and Jessica, husband Bubba Maynard.

Along with ten of his pride and joy grandchildren, Michael A. Schouten, Josiah Chavez, Lana Schouten, Joshua Chavez, Elias Chavez, Malia Maynard, Malise Maynard, Caleb Schouten,Hannah Schouten and Malani Maynard.

One Great Grandchild Ariah Campbell, and his beloved dog Easton Mako Maynard.

Mike dedicated his life to Texaco Unical 76. Then began his career as a Water Operator, while becoming a Safety Officer for United Water. He retired in July 2017.

He lived for his family. Making memorable trips, dancing, laughing, telling a good story, long summer days at the beach, hiking trips looking for arrowheads, satellite searching, sitting under the stars, spontaneous car rides to new adventures, going to Chumash on a full moon, hanging with his life long friends, Mike C. of 50 years, and Mike W. of 60 years, always at every game, and of course endless searches for meteorites and rocks that only he had an eye for.

We hold you close within our hearts and there you will remain. Holding on to the memories, until we meet again.
