So many people were praying and we still are for you Trish and Jess. Mike spoke of you guys often at work. He said how easy it was to be your husband Trish and how he loved hanging out with Jess. He loved you guys so much. Mike hired me in June of last year. He was the coolest laid back boss ever. He called me his problem child because he always had to fix my time card. I truly miss him but know that God is enjoying the pleasure of his company. Enjoy your new home, Mike. You earned it!

Trisha, I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Mike was a good friend to all. I knew Mike right before he met his wonderful wife Trish. I remember the first time he met her in person, after a long distance phone relationship. He was so nervous that day! Well, he met the love of his life. Mike re-connected with me a little over a year ago on Facebook. I got to see there beautiful daughter, who looks just like her mama, pictures of his bass, fishing boats, his motorcycle he built and there beautiful home. He knew my husband and I loved bass fishing and took every opportunity to show off his catch and the fact he got to do this pretty much year round. I will miss hearing from him, but he will never be forgotten. Prayers going out to all family and friends who knew him.

Oh man! Where do I start? I first met Mike (or Shick as we liked to call him) in Florence, SC. He had just accepted a job with Assurant Group and my boss had asked me to pick Mike up at his hotel and show him around. I believe that was back in 1999 some 18 years ago.

Mike and I became fast friends even though he was a Cowboys fan and I a fan of the NY Football Giants. We were both from Upstate NY. Mike from North Syracuse and I was from Albany. We bonded quickly over hockey and football. What I will remember most about my dear friend was his kindness and willingness to do anything for a loved one or friend.

We had purchased tickets to go see the NY Rangers play the Carolina Hurricanes in Raleigh, NC. I was incredibly excited to go to the game. A couple of days before the game Mike came down with a severe case of diverticulitis. He was in immense pain. He knew I was fired up for the game and that seeing the game meant a lot to me.

Mike hid just how much pain he was in and toughed out the long ride to and from Raleigh not to mention sitting thru the 2.5 hour hockey game. The next day I spoke to his wife Trish and she told me just how much pain he was in and what he endured just because he did not want to let me down. That was Shick... always putting others first. It wasn't until 2006 when I was hospitalized for three days with diverticulitis myself that I could really appreciate how much discomfort he must have been experiencing.

I moved back to Albany in 2002. Mike and I kept in touch off and on but not nearly as much as we should have. I wish we could play one more game of Madden, go to one more Biker week in Myrtle Beach, golf at CCSC or Traces one more time or take in one more hockey game. I love and miss you buddy!! RIP friend!
