Michael G. Seitz passed away on July 23, 2025, after a 4-year struggle with a progressive lung disease. He was 66 years old. Michael was the 7th of 10 children and grew up in Babylon Village on Long Island, NY.

He attended SUNY/Plattsburgh, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. He eventually moved to the Boston area to pursue his career and was a long-term employee of Harvard University, working first for the Chemistry Department and then, for the majority of his 38-year Harvard career, as Operations Manager, Information Systems for the Division of Continuing Education.

In 2002, he settled in Littleton, MA, with his partner of over 30 years, Elaine DiPillo. There, he enjoyed walking the trails, bicycling, and taking his daily commuter rail train trips into Cambridge. He was an experienced private pilot, having taken his first flying lessons in college, and was a member of the East Coast Aero Club at Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford. He was also an avid amateur photographer, developing photos in his home darkroom and making and editing family home movies. He also enjoyed traveling and bicycling, and planned many bicycling trips over the years for family and friends. In 2015, he participated in the 400-mile Erie Canal Trail bicycle tour from Buffalo to Albany with his brother, Bill, and sister, Jane. Most of all, he enjoyed visiting with family, friends, and their children and exchanging jokes and stories with his many siblings.

He was a beloved partner, brother, uncle, friend, and colleague. He was preceded in death by his father, William J. Seitz; his mother, Carol A. Seitz; his brothers, William F. Seitz and Thomas J. Seitz; his sister, Susan C. Seitz; and his sister, Marybeth Seitz. He is survived by his partner, Elaine DiPillo, brothers Peter Seitz (Paula), John Seitz, and Timothy Seitz (Stephanie), and his sisters Jane Seitz-McGuire (Deane) and Marie Kane-Seitz (Jeff). He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Meagan, Alicia (Tiffany), Emily, Zachary (Emily), Kaelin (Kyle), Jason, Tobey, Maura, Lindsay, Haleigh, Victoria, and Elena, as well as great nieces and nephews, Tate, Amelia, Bodhi, Myles, and Rui.
