There are no words...
Mike and I met long before we became classmates some 58 years ago. We in Scranton knew him as "Shag." He was a special force on earth...a truly once-in-a-lifetime kind of man who was loved by everyone. Please find solace in the fact that he loved you Jackie, his Sons, Daughters-in-law, and Grandchildren with his whole being. May wonderful memories of the beautiful life and family you built together always be a blessing and a comfort. You will always be a part of our West Scranton family.
Love,
Angela

I grew up with Mike or Shag as we called him in West Scranton. He had a great sense of humor and was a great guy! Growing up, he lived just a few houses away from my husband, Jack, on Rebecca Ave. in the Hyde Park Section of West Scranton. They were good friends from a very young age. He contacted me on FB years ago and we have been FB friends every since. I remember Shag at Sumner Schoolyard where we all spent many days during the Summer. Fun times and good memories! My condolences and prayers are with Jackie and Family. RIP Shag. Your West Side friends will miss you.

Miss Jackie I was saddened to learn of Mikes passing. Even though we lost touch after his retirement, he remained one of my favorite people I had the good fortune to work with. I am so sorry for your loss.

This is a very sad time in the life of anyone who has known this dear man. We count ourselves blessed to have been among the friends that he had during those wonderful years at West Scranton High School. No dance was complete without Shag walking into the room, football games always had he and his teammates in uniform with blue running through their veins. Times too good to ever forget. Sleep well, friend, we will speak of you often and lovingly and wait to see you again one day.

Dear Jackie,
I know nothing we say will help with your loss but know we are thinking of you & how brave your husband was. What a wonderful husband who shared his life with all in such a rich way.
Hope you manage to hold all the good in your heart to get through this.
Peace and love.
With deepest sympathy,
Kathleen and Mike Courville

Jackie, My thoughts, heart and prayers are going out to your entire family. I know that man loved you more than life itself. I always enjoyed hearing stories of your courtship and marriage. Mike, was by far one of my favorite people and hands down the best boss I ever had. I will miss him dearly. Godspeed.
May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.
And rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in
the hollow of His hand.
