Michael Henri Shelton

Michael Henri Shelton began his journey through life on November 10, 1947. He completed that journey on Monday morning, March 9, 2026, at the age of 78.

Visitation for Mr. Shelton will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Journey Church from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Mike Scott officiating. Interment with Military and Police Honors will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Ball, LA with Pastor Lowell "Son" Connella officiating graveside.

Michael was born on November 10, 1947, in Beaumont, Texas. During his early childhood, Michael's family relocated to Morgan City, Louisiana. He spent the remainder of his childhood and young adult life in Morgan City. Michael graduated from Morgan City High School in 1965. He later attended Nicholls State University before joining the United States Army.

Michael proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he discovered his commitment to service. This newfound commitment led him to serve his community as a police officer and Reserve Sheriff's Deputy. Michael served for many years as a police officer with the Morgan City Police Department and later as a Reserve Deputy with the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office. He was respected for his dedication and willingness to help others.

Professionally, Michael worked several different sales positions in his early adult life but eventually found alarm system sales to be his passion. He worked for Terry's Alarms, Interface Security Systems, and TSS Alarm, where he built lasting relationships as a trusted security alarm salesman before retiring.

More than anything, Michael was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He shared 56 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Nancy, building a life centered on love, family, and faith.

Michael cherished time spent with his family, especially their many trips to Disney World, where his joy was unmistakable. He proudly held the title of Mickey Mouse's biggest fan, and those vacations created countless treasured memories that his family will carry with them forever.

He will be remembered for his witty jokes, warm heart, and the deep love he had for his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Shelton and Evelyn Shelton.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife Nancy Shelton of Pineville; son, Heath Shelton (Debbie) of Dry Prong; sisters, Priscilla Bye, Colleen Kahn, and Kandi Theriot (Mickey); grandchildren, Gaven Shelton (Hailey) of Pineville, Haiden Luke (Aaron) of Echo, Gage Shelton of Dry Prong, Devon Barron of Pineville, and Hunter Tate of Dry Prong; great grandchildren, Brynlee Shelton, Lincoln Shelton, and Jade Barron; and a host of extended family and friends.

Pallbearers honored to serve are Heath Shelton, Gaven Shelton, Devon Barron, Aaron Luke, Gage Shelton, Daniel Bosecker, Jim Malone, Hunter Tate. Honorary Pallbearer is Lincoln Shelton.
