Michael Shepard Obituary
Mike, my husband of 50 years and a beloved father who cherished his family above all else. For 30 years, he served his country with honor, embodying courage, commitment, and integrity. He served proudly, bound by lifelong respect and brotherhood with those who stood beside him.
Mikey was my best friend and my soulmate, a devoted husband who filled every day with love, laughter, and care. As a father, he took such joy in watching his children grow, always involved in their swimming, soccer, and dance. He carried that same love and dedication to his grandkids. His heart was big, his presence constant, and his love unwavering.
He loved the water, the peace of his home, the beauty of his garden, and the joy of his pets-especially our beloved Dot, with whom he enjoyed long walks and quiet companionship. He found delight in reading, exploring new places, and traveling with me, his forever partner and greatest love. Every part of life, from family to hobbies, brought him joy, and he gave back that joy to everyone around him.
To my dad from your daughter, my favorite person, my constant cheerleader through everything, always worried about me and always there when I needed him. He gave the best hugs, shared words of encouragement that I'll never forget, and filled every moment with love and support. As a grandfather, he was simply the best, showering his grandchildren with care and joy. I will miss him forever, and I will always remember his favorite saying to me during swim competitions, "Get Hungry!"
To my father from your son, you were a strength in my life, stoic in the way you carried the world, selfless in how you put others before yourself, and loving without ever needing grand gestures. Beneath his serious exterior was a goofy spirit that surfaced at just the right moments, reminding us not to take life too seriously. He loved deeply and steadily, and that love is something I still feel, guiding me even now.
