Michael “Mike” Edward Shipman, 74, of Easley, South Carolina, loving husband of Matilda “Til” Shipman, passed away on Friday, May 2, 2025.
Born in Greenville, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Carl Edward and Sara Ellen Shipman. Mike retired from GE in 2011 after 32 years of service. He was known by all to be a servant to all around him. Mike was a faithful member of Siloam Baptist Church where he dedicated countless hours of service. His deep commitment to God was evident in the way he cared for his family, friends, and church family.
Mike loved mowing his lawn, playing golf, fishing, and visiting Fripp Island.
In addition to his loving wife of 53 years and his mother, he is survived by two sons, Bradley Shipman (Erin), and Andrew Shipman (Megan); two brothers, David Shipman (Gwen), and Ray Shipman (Donna); and five grandchildren, Ashton, Tyler, Garrett, Anna, and JP.
Mike is also survived by his golf buddies and friends, John Barber and Skeeter Evans. He is preceded in death by one golf buddy, the late Cary Freeman.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM at Siloam Baptist Church. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM at the Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Legacy Fund of Siloam Baptist Church, 229 Siloam Road, Easley, South Carolina 29642.
