My love, I still miss you every day. Still talk to you every day. I know you'd be golfing almost every day now that you'd be retired. Everything I look at in our home reminds me of you and what we created together. I often ask God why he took you so soon. I guess one day I will find out.

My love always,
Sandy

Mike was a key member of our church for many years. He was instrumental in the start of a study group, and most recently served as a board member. His business sense, combined with his positive attitude, was much appreciated. All that, plus a really good guy to be around.

We had the pleasure of getting to know Mike and Sandy through our Avon Lake golf couples league over the past several years. We always enjoyed his company and laughter both on and off the course. He will certainly be missed. Our sincere condolences to Sandy and family.

The stories we could tell. If all the personalities of the neighborhood told their version of events surrounding the Barns and the 88 Acre Woods around the Severance Estates. The changing times we experience growing up in the fantasy world we created within the "Gates of Fire" Kingdom we roamed. Then we went and grew up, dang life’s not fair, I hope to see you all there again someday. “Bats” Forever!

Mike had a heart of gold. In the fall of 2013, my child was 18 years old by the hair on her head. She moved out in a crappy apartment and was about to start her first semester at CSU. On her own two feet she was paying (and borrowing!) tuition, rent and everything in between. She had squeaked out enough money to acquire her school books and fees, and the big first day of college was approaching fast. In the wee hours of the night she had drafted a panicky note to my work email address. In true millennial female hyper-meltdown fashion, she needed a parking pass for school and did not have the money for one. She was beside herself, managing to come so close to her dreams and now faced with this last obstacle of school parking. In her feverish hysteria, she misspelled my name and this email was sent to some dead zone email that Mike monitored. Without any fanfare, with as few words as needed, Mike approached me that morning with a copy of the email and told me to use his credit card to pay for the parking spot.
Mike encouraged me to be the best I could be, steering me to grow professionally. I knew I kept this, I had to tear up my home office to find it;
“A directive from the president,
There is a difference between being in charge and being controlling. To be controlling means to be petty. To be in charge means not to be a door mat.

Also please do not use spaces in item numbers
Mike Sievers”

My deepest and heartfelt condolences to the Sievers family.

My younger brother, Mick, was intelligent and caring. He was my go to guy for wine recommendations. He also provided advice on golf equipment and techniques for my golf challenged husband. He had an awesome dry sense of humor which often left us laughing until we were in tears. I am now in tears remembering how much I will miss him in this life. I didn't tell you often enough how much I love you.

Dear Jimmy, Sandra, and Sievers Family, I am so very sorry to hear of your great loss. Jimmy and “Mickey” were good friends in our junior and high school days and I’ve stayed in touch virtually through their TV commercials. Always said, hi Jimmy and Mickey, when the commercial came on. Please accept my condolences and I will include you and Mickey in my prayers. God bless.
