Michael Brady Simpson

Michael Brady Simpson, 73, passed away at his home on January 6, 2026. Born in Rockingham County, he was the son of the late Haywood and Allene Nance Simpson.
In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his son, Michael Brady Simpson, Jr.; and brothers, Lee Simpson, Donnie Simpson, and Roger Simpson.
Mike is survived by his loving wife, Peggy Simpson; son, Adam Simpson and wife, Karen; grandchildren, Halle, Truett, and Brynley Simpson; and brother, Pat Simpson and wife, Kathy.
Mike was a devoted NC State Wolfpack football fan, cheering faithfully for his team and sharing that enthusiasm with everyone around him. Saturdays in the fall were especially meaningful to him, filled with excitement, loyalty, and pride for the Wolfpack.
Mike also loved spending time on the golf course, where he found both relaxation and enjoyment in the game. Whether playing a casual round or simply appreciating the time outdoors, golf was one of his favorite pastimes.
Mike cherished the life he shared with his loving wife, Peggy. Together, they enjoyed traveling and making memories, exploring new places side by side and embracing each adventure with joy and companionship.
A graveside service to celebrate Mike's life will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026 at 11 a.m. at the Crocker Cemetery in Kenly with Pastor Daniel Arant presiding. The family will receive friends immediately following the service as well as other times at the home.
Flowers are welcome, or memorials may be sent to Gentiva Hospice of Wilson 2841 Daisy Ln N, Wilson, NC 27896 in memory of Mike.
