Uncle Mike was a great man that had a wealth of knowledge of North Denver. He knew everyone by name & where they or their family lived. A lifelong member & staple of Mt Carmel Church, Uncle Mike will be missed greatly

What a sweet tribute! My grandparents were also from Basilicata, Potenza & immigrated to Little Italy, Denver. Our family had ties to yours, attending Mt. Carmel, etc. Mr. Smaldone sounds like a very dear man who served others. I know you will miss him.

What an astounding and edifying sweep of Mike's life with his great family and friends and countless good deeds! Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish was the center of his life and outreach to all who came into his life. I will always remember his great and welcoming smile whenever he came to Mass and Third Order meetings. A towering example of a great Italian!
