Michael Duane Smith, the son of Dale and Grace (Staley) Smith, was born on June 5th, 1958, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was raised and educated in Eagle Grove.
Mike married Cindy Douglass and they had four children: Eric, Nathan, Adam and Nick. They later divorced. Mike then married Lisa Shelton, together they had three children: Mikki, Grace, and Faith. They later divorced.
Mike worked for Voss Floor Coverings and AGP.
Mike loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and camping with family. Mike liked watching his favorite Western shows, and following the Hawkeyes and Rams. He was also known for listening to Rock and Roll music and having a beer (or several) with his buddies.
Mike passed away Wednesday, December 18th, 2024, at the age of 66 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Alan; daughter, Mikki Shelton and granddaughter, Ciara Loux.
Mike is survived by his children: Eric (Tracy) Douglass, Nathan (Melissa) Smith, Adam Smith, Nick (Sarah) Smith, Grace Smith and Faith (Harley) Burmeister; step-children: Jon (Bre) Rutledge, Alex (Kacey) Rutledge and Beth (Jon) Washington; grandchildren: Cole, Olympia, Tremain, Timothy, Paityn, Emberlyn, Barry, Graciela'Joe, and Cynthia; great-grandchildren: Jesse Jr, Jorga, Jagger, Morgan and Adi; sisters: Deb Withers and Karen (Keith) Smith-Trager, his beloved cat, 50, and many other friends.
