Michael Wayne Smith

Michael (Mike) Wayne Smith, age 68, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2025, at his home.
Mike was born February 1, 1957, in Fayetteville, Tennessee, to the late Edgar and Estelle Barefoot Smith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Anita Smith and Faye Tucker.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Harvey Smith; two sons, Drew Smith of Murfreesboro and Derek Wayne Smith (Hannah) of Lewisburg; two grandchildren Stratton and Savannah Smith; sisters Mitzi Milliken of Lewisburg and Denise Bates (Roger) of Fayetteville; sister-in-law Sandra West (Steve) of Texas.
Prior to retirement, Mike was a manager at Musgrave Pencil in Shelbyville and Vice President for Cosmolab in Lewisburg. He later worked as a CPA for several businesses. He enjoyed watching UT ballgames and the Tennessee Titans football games. Coaching and watching his own sons playing ball was one of his greatest joys. When his grandchildren came along, he enjoyed watching them play ball as well. He rarely missed a ball game for his children or grandchildren. In his retirement, he enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren, Stratton and Savannah.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
