Michael Sollitto

Sollitto, Michael, 100, of Centre St., died June 29, 2010, at Orchard View Manor. He was the husband of the late Virginia (DeCesare) Sollitto. During WWII he worked in the Providence Shipyard, building Liberty Ships. He worked in the refrigeration and air conditioning business for Lutz Engineering Company. He was a member of RSES (Refrigeration Service and Engineering Society) since 1948. He loved tennis, golf, photography, gardening and movies. He is survived by his daughter Francine Lasnier and her husband Paul of East Providence, his son Michael L.Sollitto and his wife Kathleen of Columbia, MD. He is survived by his grandsons Christopher Sollitto, Peter Ileka, his granddaughter Caroline Monds and her husband Devin. He is survived by his sister Elizabeth "Dolly" Cyr of East Providence. The funeral will be held on Friday at 9:30 AM from the Rebello Funeral Home, 901 Broadway, East Providence, RI. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at10:30AM in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 346 Waterman Ave., East Providence. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4-7PM. Please omit flowers.
