Michael N. Spector 1938 - 2025, devoted husband and proud father of three children, 87, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, died at his home on December 4, 2025. Michael was born in Leipzig, Germany on May 13, 1938 to Maxim and Sonia Spector and upon his birth the family all swooned at Sonia's beautiful first-born baby boy. Fleeing Germany, the family immigrated to the United States in 1939. Michael enlisted in the Air Force following high school and was stationed in the Far East at Naha Airbase on the Island of Okinawa, Japan. It is there that he met his first wife, Marilyn Maureen Spector (nee Paulson). Returning to the states, they married in December 1957 in Council Bluffs, Iowa while Michael was stationed at Strategic Air Command in Omaha, Nebraska. After being honorably discharged, Michael and Marilyn returned to Philadelphia where they resided and raised a family.
Michael was an audiologist and owner of Professional Laboratories in Northeast Philadelphia for 46 years until his retirement in 2018. Michael will be fondly remembered for his love of his family, passion for music and playing the piano, and devotion to his patients. His hobbies were many and quite varied, including home remodeling, anything to do with flying including owning his own plane, motorcycles from seeing Marlon Brando in “The Wild One,” and his absolute love of 60's and early 70's Cadillacs.
Michael was preceded in death by his first wife, Marilyn, second wife, Ruth Ann, sons Scott Allen and David Eric, and parents Maxim and Sonia Spector. He is survived by son, Brian Spector (Nancy) of Harrisburg, brother, Jesse Spector of Lenox, MA, and sister, Dorothy McClellan of Corpus Christi, TX.
Family and friends are invited to attend Funeral Services on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at 11:30 am at Goldsteins’ Rosenberg’s Suburban North, 310 Second Street Pike, Southampton, PA 18966. Interment to follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park, 2701 Old Lincoln Highway, Trevose, PA 19053.
