Michael William Spoonley, a devoted husband and cherished brother, passed away on April 24, 2025, at the age of 60. Born on March 31, 1965, in Bay Shore, New York to his parents William and Janet Spoonley. Michael exemplified dedication throughout his life, particularly in his role as a welder with Local 28, a profession he approached with pride and commitment.
Michael's life was marked not only by his career but also by his deep connections with his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia, and his siblings: Billy, Janet, Bette, Kathy, Patty, Jimmy, Joanne, and Joey. Cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews. The bonds he shared with them were a source of strength and joy, reflecting a rich family life filled with love and support.
In addition to his living family members, Michael was preceded in death by his late brothers Tommy and his sister Dorothy, both of whom will be remembered fondly by all who knew them.
Friends, family, and loved ones are invited to celebrate Michael’s life and legacy during a series of visitations on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at Mangano Family Funeral Home in Deer Park, NY. The first visitation will take place from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM, followed by a second visitation from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM. A Mass will be held in his honor on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at Saint Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church in Melville, NY, starting at 9:30 AM.
As we remember Michael William Spoonley, we celebrate the numerous memories and the indelible mark he has left on the hearts of those who loved him. His spirit will live on through the stories shared and the love that continues among his family members and friends.
