1968-2025
Cameron, Missouri- Michael Gary Spoor, 57, passed away unexpectedly on October 20, 2025.
He was the twin son of Stephen and Julie (Isley) Spoor, born in Hart, Michigan on October 2, 1968.
Mike was a graduate of Garland High School. He worked 25 years as an apartment maintenance supervisor, working the last 10 years in building maintenance at Winston High School.
He married Melynda Azlin on June 5, 1988.
Mike is preceded in death by his grandparents, Crayton (Stub) and Lottie Isley, and Wilford and Joyce Spoor; in-laws, Jake and Karen Azlin; and nephew, Anthony Azlin.
Most important to Mike was his love for God. His devotion to bible study was a big part of his life. Mike and a dear friend, Darryl hosted a weekly radio bible study and he later went on to host an annual Passover Feast in his home. He participated in many bible study groups with friends both in-person online. He had a genuine thirst to know God and loved sharing his passion with others.
He loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, running his smoker and cooking for his family and friends. He treasured his family and loved spending time with his grandson, Ben. He loved a good joke and was very quick-witted. Mike had a special kinship with his little dog Holly.
He was loved by all and will be greatly missed by his family, many friends, and the students and faculty at Winston School.
Survivors: wife, Melynda; daughter, Madison (Miah) Pool; grandson, Benjamin Brown; parents, Steve (Julie) Spoor; twin sister, Kathy (Richard) Tucker; sisters in law, Rebecca (Dennis) Durst, Alicia VanDerVeer; former son-in-law Micheal Brown; nieces, Shannon Tucker, Nancy Tucker, Courtney (Hunter) Kelderman; nephews, Quintin (Monica) Durst, Kendal Durst, Travis VanDerVeer, Amanda VanDerVeer, Connor VanDerVeer; along with many dear friends that he considered family.
Services: 11:00 am, Friday, October 24, 2025 at the First Christian Church in Cameron.
Visitation prior at 10:00 am.
