Michael J. Squitieri, age 70, of Elkton, MD, passed away peacefully to live eternally with the Lord on Friday, August 30, 2024.
Michael was born in South Philadelphia, PA, son to the late Lucy (Midiri) and Alexander Squitieri. Michael went on to work numerous jobs over the years but eventually retired as a Sales Representative and Delivery Man for Schmidt Baking Company. Michael was proud to be an American and considered himself a modern-day patriot. Michael was a strong and principled person. He was committed to hard work, self-reliance, and instilling these values in his family. Michael believed in the power of perseverance and self-sufficiency, along with his role as a guiding example for his children and grandchildren. He was a positive and influential figure in the lives of his family members. His legacy is one of pride, determination, and a deep sense of responsibility. In addition to his parents, Michael was also predeceased by his wife, Mary H. Squitieri.
Michael is survived by his children Michael A. Squitieri, Lisa Squitieri-Enriquez (Rudy), David Squitieri (Jami), Regina Mulvena (Dave) and Anthony Squitieri; 11 grandchildren, Christian, Mason, Madisson, Jackson, Angelic', Alexandria, Elijah, Avery, Luciano, Noelle, and Benjamin; brother, Ralph Squitieri; sister, Debbie Longo; and numerous close family friends whom he all loved.
A visitation for Michael will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024, at Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, 905 New Rd, Wilmington, DE 19805, where friends and family may call from 10 to 11AM, with a Mass of Christian Service following at 11AM. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Michael's name to support his beloved disabled son, Anthony Squitieri, whom he cherished deeply.
