Denise and Family, you are in my thoughts and prayers. I remember Denise telling stories about Michael's latest remodeling project. He had to be an incredible man- he had you as his wife.

Well done good and faithful servant! Heaven is rejoicing at your homecoming!

NO one had to guess about the loves of his life- wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and the charities he so willingly supported. May we as Christians reflect Christ as Mike did in his own life! We all pray that he Is resting in the palm of His hand. Love Aunt Margie

I am so sorry for your family's loss. I had the great pleasure and honor to work with Mike for many years at Waddell & Reed and like so many others who worked with him, I would say he was one of the most impacting people in my experience there. He was the kind of leader that we all would like to be and was beloved to all. I learned so much from him and enjoyed my time spent with him. Truly a remarkable man.

John and I are so saddened by Mike's passing. Everything about him was grand. From his smile, to his hello, to his giving heart you felt his warmth and friendship, that was graciously shared with everyone he knew. Luckily for the world his gift lives on in his children.

Mike was one of the most honorable people I have ever met. We worked together for 5 years with Bright Futures Fund. His direct impact with Bright Futures Fund meant that literally thousands of students in poverty received an excellent Catholic Education. Under his leadership there were two school renovations, record setting fundraising, including a 300% increase in board contributions, and the rededication of Our Lady of Hope on the campus of Guardian Angels Parish, exactly 105 years to the day it was first dedicated. I remember my first event working with Mike... I was looking for him to discuss something only to find the COO of a major company quietly sweeping the floor. Thats who he was - no job too small, no need too great. He was there...always. I will miss him terribly.

Mike was always a welcoming and warm leader at all company functions and visits to HO. I enjoyed getting to know him and Denise and his down to earth demeanor were so refreshing given his intellect and position. He was an inviting leader and perfect example of the type of "family" we had at Waddell & Reed. I strove to emulate such character and am thankful for the opportunity we had to connect. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Strohm family. Mike will be sorely missed

I am so sorry for the passing of Mike. He was a very special person to me. I started at WR in 1996 in corporate accounting when Mike was the controller and I am still working in WR corporate accounting!! Tracy (Strohm) worked with a close friend of mine Lisa A. at St. Luke's child care center years ago so this is what kinda started our friendship - we also played corporate softball together and corporate bowling (I believe all the Strohm boys are good bowlers too) and of course with that came drinking beer together - lol (see one team picture from 2010 with our Gold medals!!!). We also shared the love of motorcycles. He was always so proud of his bikes and I always noticed and commented on each new one he bought. He even took me for a short ride once! Occasionally some of us from WR would 'crash' his Friday evening pool games with Ted Howard and Larry Cipolla at the Clarette Club! Mike always loved talking about his family. He was a vital asset to WR for many many years. I highly respected and admired Mike and I will treasure these memories and others forever...May the Lord hold and sustain The Strohm family in his arms of compassion...
