Michael Struhar Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cox-McNulty Funeral Home - Barberton on Feb. 2, 2026.
Michael "Mike" Struhar went to be with the Lord on January 28, 2026. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Andrew and Ruth Struhar, and his brother, Andrew "Sonny" (Dolly). He is survived by his devoted wife, Vicky; his siblings David (Patricia) and Patricia "Tina" (Al); his children Michael (Jackie), Mark (Karen), Jason (Albert), Nicole (Steve), and Jeff (Shannon); his grandchildren Jessica (Will), Kelly, Autumn, Joe, Cody, Ryan, Caitlynn, Kaylee, and Corey; and his great grandchildren Emmett and Lincoln, who cherished him deeply.

Mike was a loving and devoted husband to Vicky for 32 years. Together, they shared countless joyful moments and created wonderful memories, especially during their frequent trips to Florida and their cherished visits to Disney World. Professionally, Mike was a dedicated and respected employee at Dansingers Papermill for 27 years and then US Cotton, where he worked for 14 years. He took great pride in his work and truly enjoyed the people he worked alongside.

Known as "Buck" to many, Mike was a man with an enormous heart who always put his family first. He served as a Spec in the Army and took tremendous pride in his role as a photographer overseas, an experience he considered one of the greatest honors of his life. Mike loved bowling and attending sporting events with his children, and later in life, he especially treasured watching his grandson's football and wrestling matches. He enjoyed family cookouts and quiet evenings at home with Vicky, snacking on candy and watching his favorite shows, Heartland and Dancing with the Stars, revealing his softer, sentimental side.

Mike's heart was big, his loyalty unwavering, and his love for his family endless. He enjoyed sharing stories from his younger years with his siblings and was known for never turning down a challenge. Fun loving, carefree, and full of spirit, he brought joy wherever he went.

Mike was truly one of a kind. Everyone who knew him loved him. His spirit lives on through his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and his presence will be deeply missed.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The Wounded Warrior Project in his honor.
