Michael C. Sweeney, of West Chester, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2024 at the age of 78. He was born August 11, 1946 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Mike’s focus was on the people in his life. He found great pride in his family and community and took every opportunity to meet new people. His main hobby was being of service to others. Mike took the Kiwanis mission of "Building Community and Serving Children" to heart with countless volunteer hours with the Kiwanis Club of Mason, having served multiple times as its District Lt. Governor.
He was an avid Cincinnati sports fan and American history buff. Mike also found contentment behind the wheel of his prized convertible.
Mike will be forever loved and cherished by all who knew him.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Edmund Sweeney.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Ineke (nee Jongerius) Sweeney, sons Kevin (Rachel) and Nicholas (Katie) Sweeney, and grandchildren Addie, Liv, Ellis, and Alden, along with countless friends.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, OH 45040 on Friday, October 18th from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM.
The Kiwanis Club of Mason will honor Mike beginning at 4:45 PM. Prayer service to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the Sweeney Family would prefer contributions be directed to The Kiwanis Club of Mason, PO Box 134, Mason, OH 45040 or masonkiwanis.org.
