Michael J. Thompson

Michael Joseph Thompson, 51 of Colts Neck passed away on Tuesday, January 28th, 2025.
He was the owner and operator of New York Asphalt, based in Staten Island, NY and a member of Local 14, Crane Operators Union, New York City.
An avid fisherman, Michael would often fish the Canyon and enjoyed this hobby with his son Christian. He recently started skiing and loved sharing this hobby with his children, mainly Michael and Amelia. Michael enjoyed relaxing with a nice cigar, a glass of wine and his family. He loved watching sports with his son Michael, tinkering in the garage with his son Christian and admiring his daughter Amelia as she performed on stage as a dancer. He was so proud of all three of his children, as they are all so special, respectful and unique.
Michael adored his wife Angela and traveling with his family. He was always watching youtube to discover new places around the world to explore with them. His family was his life and he treasured them.
Surviving Michael is his loving wife, Angela; their three children, Michael, Christian and Amelia; as well as his brother, Brian Thompson. He was like a son to his in-laws Angelo and Theresa Paolino and adored by his brothers-in-law Thomas, his wife Lisa, Michael and his wife Jaime Paolino. He shared a special bond with his cousin, who was his best friend, Joseph Schwab. Loved by the rest of his cousins, Aunts and Uncles, he was the beloved son of Margaret & Emil Thompson, deceased.
Michael will always be remembered for his generosity, thoughtfulness and as a person who would help anyone in need. He enjoyed entertaining and making people happy.
Visitation is Sunday, February 2nd, from 1 to 6 pm at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Road, Holmdel. Funeral services are Monday, February 3rd at 11:00 am the Colts Neck Community Church, 25 Merchants Way, Colts Neck. Entombment will follow at Holmdel Mausoleum.
