Michael Tunney Obituary
Michael is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Nancy Shaw Tunney, his daughters Kara Mae Tunney and Brianne "Bub" Tunney, his beloved grandchildren, Rylan Blue Martinelli, Brieah Michaela Johnson, Kensie Mae Dechaine, Jaxxon John Adams and 7 sisters and 4 brothers, as well as many extended family members and close friends.
Michael is predeceased by his son, Michael D. "Tunn" Tunney, Jr., and daughter Brynn Noelle Tunney, parents, Anthony P. Tunney, Jr and Patricia DuBell Tunney.
He worked at the Burlington County Bridge Commission for over 30 years and retired in 2010 and then started Tunney Property Management.
He was softball coach to the West Jersey Witches and Bordentown Girls Little League. He coached the girls first 10 and 12 year State Champions. Mike was extremely involved in the foreground of the Bordentown girls' softball community. He was very involved in AA and extremely proud of his 14 plus years of sobriety and he was a mentor to many men struggling with addiction issues.
Mike enjoyed his Friday night playing poker in his garage with the guys.
Michael had been fighting lung cancer for the last year. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 12th from 1 pm to 4 pm at the Bordentown Elks 11 Amboy Rd Bordentown NJ 08505.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Nancy Tunney, Citizens Bank Acct # 1046 for financial help with his grandchildren who he has helped raise.
