Michael Vance Obituary

Published by Koepsell-Murray Funeral & Cremation Services, Beaver Dam on Dec. 3, 2008.
Michael Dale "Roamy" Vance, age 50, of Beaver Dam, died after a short, hard-fought battle with cancer, at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital on Wednesday, December 3, 2008.

He was born on December 23, 1957 in San Antonio, Texas, but lived most of his life in the Beaver Dam area. Roamy was a 1976 graduate of Beaver Dam High School. He was employed at the Walgreen''s Distribution Center in Windsor, WI. He appreciated his job, bosses, and co-workers and was looking forward to returning to work in the spring.

He is survived by his mother, Velma Mae Vance of Beaver Dam, brother and mentor, David (Janine) Vance of Youngtown, AZ, sister and chum, Cheryl (Gary) Lininger of Beaver Dam, sister and guardian angel, Sandy Lehner of Beaver Dam, half brother, Michael (Kay) Devers of Longmount, CO, nieces, Claire (Jim) Admire, Mary (Kevin) Rohde, Maggie (Tracy) Brock, Maranda (Joshua) Karasch, and Jennifer DeCent, nephews, his hero, Sgt. Daniel (Trina) Lehner, of the US Army, Michael Lehner, Joseph (Sara) Lehner, Luke (Morgan) Vance, Nick Vance, Nathan Vance, Ben (Melanie) Lininger, and Joe (Jenni) Lininger, grand nieces, Breanna, Sydney, Lizzy, Makenna, and Taran, grand nephews, Jayden, Ian, Eli, Landon, and Mathew, his dear friends, Keith Lutz, who said, "Mike was the little brother I never had.", Mike Hansen, Eddy Leistico, Phil and Ode of Valdosta, GA, Dick, and last but not least his fellow "Ram Rodders", Mark "Hoefto" Hoeft, Jim "Shady" Shade, Jim "Keller" Keller, Jeff "Jenks" Henke, Terry Bennett, Deb Brunelle, and many more friends, too numerous to mention. Mike was preceded in death by his father, Cyril and a special aunt and uncle, Darold and Vivian Vance.

Mike so appreciated all of the thoughts and prayers that were sent his way from the people he worked with, the friends he had made through the years, and of course his family, while he battled an aggressive cancer. Our world is a little dimmer today.

A small private service was held by his family residing in Arizona. Present, were an Elder from the Jehovah Witnesses, his mother, Velma Vance, brother, David Vance, and sister-in-law, Janine Vance. A private inurnment with closest friends and family will take place in the spring at Leipsig Cemetery, Town of Beaver Dam, Dodge County, Wisconsin.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to defray medical expenses. They may be sent to Sandy Lehner, N6373 S. Center Rd., Beaver Dam, WI 53916.

The Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam is caring for the family. Online condolences may be made on our website at www.MurrayFH.com.
