Michael Vogt Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Thomas B. Dobies Funeral Home & Crematory - Holiday on Jan. 21, 2026.
Michael "Buzz" Kenneth Vogt, age 54, passed away on January 13, 2026, in Levy County, Florida. He was a longtime resident of New Port Richey, Florida, and was born in Battle Creek, Michigan, to Jo Vogt and Michael L. Vogt.

Michael is survived by his wife, Kellie Vogt, whom he married on January 1, 2026; his sons, Micah and Levi Vogt; his mother, Jo Vogt Leonard; his stepfather, Johnny Leonard; his sister, Ann-Marie Vogt Pittzer; his nephew, Colby; his stepchildren, McKenna, Christian, and Kaden; and his grandchildren, Jayce, Eliana, and Kya. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael E. Vogt.

Michael and Kellie shared a deep and loving bond, and their marriage marked the beginning of a new chapter filled with love, commitment, and hope for the future. Though they were married for only twelve days, they gave one another a depth of love that many hope to experience in a lifetime.

Michael was a proud graduate of Land O' Lakes High School, Class of 1989. He later graduated as valedictorian from Florida Metropolitan University in 2005 with a diploma in Massage Therapy and became a Licensed Massage Therapist in 2006. Michael worked with several chiropractors throughout the Tampa Bay area, perfecting his skills in medical massage. He was nationally certified by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork and was a member of the American Massage Therapy Association.

Those who knew Michael will remember him as affectionate, caring, and always willing to help. He had a laugh that could fill a room and a presence that made people feel welcomed and valued. Michael was a dedicated provider, a loving father and husband, and someone who would always go above and beyond for the people he loved. He shared a special bond with all who knew him and loved his children, stepchildren, and grandchildren as his own. He lived life on his own terms and always did things his way.

Michael enjoyed watching his favorite sports teams, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Michigan Wolverines. He especially cherished spending time with his wife, Kellie, doing everything together, from getting in the car and blasting classic rock while going for long drives, to binge-watching television shows, and enjoying evenings at the Moose Lodge. These simple moments brought him the greatest joy.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Details will be shared with family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to assist with final expenses and in support of his loved ones.

Michael will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
