Michael Wagener Obituary

Michael worked for many years in residential construction and took pride in the craftsmanship and dedication he brought to every project. A lifelong member of Meadow Heights Baptist Church in Collinsville, his faith was a central part of his life and values.
He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, faithfully cheering on his team each season. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially hunting for morel mushrooms in the spring, a favorite pastime he looked forward to each year.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, Richard Wagener; and two brothers, Glenn and Kenneth Wagener.
He is survived by his loving mother, Gloria (nee Staley) Wagener; his beloved wife of 28 years, Mary (nee Lohman) Wagener, whom he married on April 25, 1996; and his two brothers, Marc Wagener and Todd (Kim) Wagener.
In accordance with Michael's wishes, no public services will be held.
Memorial donations in his honor may be made to Meadow Heights Baptist Church and will be received at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
