Michael Wardrep Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home & Crematory on Jan. 30, 2026.
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Michael Paul Wardrep, who departed this life on January 24, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on May 17, 1946, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Michael was a beloved son, husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, and a proud veteran of the United States Air Force.

Michael dedicated over 25 years of his life to Rock-Tenn, where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence, earning notable recognition throughout his career as a general laborer in the papermill industry. His dedication extended beyond his work, as he was a great provider for his family, demonstrating a love and commitment that created lasting bonds.

Michael had many passions that defined his life. He was an avid enthusiast of model trains, particularly HO scale, and found joy in watching trains. He had a profound appreciation for antique cars, which led him to attend numerous car shows with his family and late wife Judy. He was also a fan of the Cincinnati Reds and had a special fondness for the culinary delights of his hometown, especially steaks and Cincinnati Chili. Michael found solace and joy in music, with classical organ pieces holding a special place in his heart.

He is survived by his beloved daughter, Michelle (Peter), his step children, Eddie, Carroll (Tim), Janet (Chuck), and cherished grandchildren: Christopher, Pearl (Ben), Grace, Cora, Charlie, Davita (Justin), Myles (Rachel), Arielle, Tanis (Brittiny), Victor, Jessica, Caleb, Colin (Skyla), William, Andrew and Courtney (Matt). He also leaves to cherish many great grandchildren, family, and friends. Each of them carries a piece of his spirit and legacy forward.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Pearl Wardrep, his siblings, Daniel and William Wardrep and his wife of 22 years, Judy Wardrep.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, 45231 (follow the blue line upon entering the memorial park). The visitation will begin at 1:00 PM. A formal funeral service will commence at 2:00 PM, leading to a graveside service at Arlington Memorial Gardens at 2:30 PM.
